Update: Join Senators Casey and Hassan this Wednesday for a Call to Protect Medicaid

On Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 11:00-11:40 a.m. Eastern, Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) and Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) will be hosting a conference call to discuss the Republican agenda to cut Medicaid. The National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) encourages you to join this important discussion.

Cuts to the Medicaid program will be enormously harmful to the disability community, and Senator Casey and others will be discussing what is currently happening and how to continue fighting to protect Medicaid. Please join us, Senator Casey, and other disability groups and advocates as we fight against these dangerous cuts.

Only people without business experience think that “cuts” are bad when in fact they are, in the case of our Governemt, one of the best ways to improve programs including those for the disabled. Too often resources are wasted, poorly allocated and poorly utilized primarily because we have too many people running programs and non-profits so poorly the best way to and almost the only way is to remove their funding. I know, tough language for tough times but continuous improvement is not always pretty.

It’s time to demand and expect more from our Government beginning by halting them and organizations that purport to serve the disabled community to improve things but do it with less money. If they can’t then demand they be replaced.
