Meet Your Presenter

Dennis Fitzgibbons: Executive Director, Alpha One, Maine’s Center for Independent Living

Dennis’ career has spanned teaching at the high school level, business administration in the private sector and CIL management in Massachusetts and Maine. As Executive Director at Maine’s CIL Alpha One, Dennis is responsible for the management and operation of Alpha One and works with the Alpha One Board of Directors to set organizational priorities and goals.

In his years in Independent Living, Dennis has served on numerous long-term care and health care public policy task forces at the state and national level to advocate for increased community-based care and quality health care for people with disabilities. He has been active in the development and administration of consumer-directed service programs for persons with disabilities. Dennis has promoted disability rights in personal assistance, housing, transportation, employment and health care for over 30 years.
