Dear Advocates,
We have accomplished so much together this year! A year ago, we were asking for your support to press for WIOA. Now, the new law is a reality and the Independent Living Administration is being created. Your collective action made the difference and together we passed WIOA when everyone else said it could not be done! This was an outstanding success, but our work is not over. As I’m sure you know, our work to ensure that WIOA and the ILA are implemented according to IL philosophy is a tremendous undertaking. Please consider donating to NCIL to enable us to continue these efforts!
Rest assured that your donation will be put to good use. Our small staff works diligently to represent CILs, SILCs, and people with disabilities on a shoestring budget. While we’re proud of our efficiency and hard work, you may not know that budget cuts have forced us to let advocacy positions go unfilled to save money. Right now, WIOA regulations are being written and the ILA is being created. The issue is simple: we need our policy staff to attend every meeting, make every call, and to collect and share your input to protect our reputation as the strongest grassroots cross-disability organization in Washington.
